Nearing the end of our mission, one more week left

On September 17th we will be leaving Nauvoo, our six month temple mission.  What a wonderful experience.  So much in depth understanding to a historical and spiritual place.  A place where we had ancestors live here, work here, were persecuted for their religion here and started their exodus to the great salt lake valley over 170 years ago.    We have learned so much and are so grateful for this opportunity.  The Temple is a sacred place and we had the opportunity to work here.  Every time I would enter into the temple,

I would look up at the building and the bell tower and think to myself, "am I really here? "
This beautiful place.  Such a miracle that we are here in this historical place.

I have taken the time to read and learn about the many symbols on the temple from "Testaments in Stone" by R. Lane Wright.  And how the windows are made from a book called the "Window Maker" by Charles Allen.  Such a fine craftsman.  Another book I read is "Most Glorious of All"  regarding the essential ordinance of baptism. Reading the Doctrine and Covenants while here just added to my testimony that Joseph Smith was and is a true Prophet of God.  He was so amazing that words can't really describe it.

All those that read this, friend, relative or foe, Do investigate and pray over the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, In his Name, Amen.

  1. You have been so blessed to serve you different missions. I think we would enjoy a Nauvoo mission. Welcome home. Have you had someone living in your home in your absence.'
